“By no means is the provisional purchase agreement a preliminary one.”
Pieter Maclaine Pont
Legal expert
By no means is the provisional purchase agreement a preliminary one. This agreement applies in the period between the agreement to buy the House to buy and the moment of delivery, usually at the notary. It contains all important matters.
For one the agreement must be subject to approval of a mortgage by a financial institution. The time of delivery is also included, actually all aspects involved in the transaction should be settled. An experienced legal specialist looks at the agreement and together with you, and usually also with the financial advisor, various matters are checked so you will never be taken by surprise. Only when everything is satisfactory the sales agreement is signed.
As our legal expert has a major in International Law all aspects regarding foreign ownership, or Dutch ownership but with the owner residing outside The Netherlands, are also covered. An experienced lawyer is really far better in these matters than an estate agent.
